Meric is part of a group of Hopefinders—magically powered humanitarians who follow the faith of the Light and travel the world seeking to help others. While on a mission in the town of Holtham, the group learns of an oncoming military invasion force from the Estolt Confederacy. Now Meric and their companions must balance their duty to protect the people of the town with their oaths of pacifism. Yet the swiftly approaching battle isn’t the only ordeal Meric will face. The Estolt Confederacy is not only a military force to be reckoned with—it’s also Meric’s homeland.
