Pearson, followed by a Q&A and book signing.About the PoetsAlan King is a Caribbean American, whose parents emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago to the U.S. in the 1970s. He’s a husband, father, and communications professional who blogs about art and social issues at He's the author of Point Blank (Silver Birch Press, 2016) and Drift (Willow Books, 2012). A Cave Canem graduate fellow, he holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the Stonecoast Program at the University of Southern Maine. He’s a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee and was nominated three times for a Best of the Net selection. He lives with his family in Bowie, Maryland.Reuben Jackson has been the host of Friday Night Jazz on Vermont Public Radio since 2012. He is also an online mentor and workshop leader with the Vermont Young Writers Project. He was curator of the Duke Ellington Collection at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. for 20 years.His music reviews have been published in The Washington Post, Jazz Times, on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, and in other journals and magazines. Reuben is also a poet whose work has appeared in more than 30 anthologies, in a volume entitled fingering the keys, The Montpelier Bridge, and a forthcoming anthology Of Vermont Poetry.  He is finishing a volume of poetry entitled “Scattered Clouds.” He lives in Winooski, Vermont.Nancy K. Pearson’s second book of poems, The Whole by Contemplation of a Single Bone, won the “Poets Out Loud” Prize from Fordham University Press. Her first book of poems, Two Minutes of Light, won the PEN New England Award and was a Massachusetts Book Awards “Must Read Book.” She currently teaches at West Chester University, PA. She’s an avid cyclist and lives with her wife and baby here in Frederick, Maryland.
