Banned Books Search Begins

09/16/17 All day

Curious Iguana and Flying Dog Brewery’s 1st Amendment Society are hiding 50 banned books around Downtown Frederick between September 16 and 30, 2017, to raise awareness of ongoing censorship efforts in the United States. Our Banned Books Search is modeled after DC Public Libraries’ very successful #UncensoredDC Banned Book Scavenger Hunt held annually in September.

If you find a book, it’s yours to keep. (One book per person, please.) Read the insert inside and bring it to the Iguana to be entered in a prize drawing. Be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #fREADomfrederick as you complete your search!

Finders and seekers are invited to join us for the wrap-up event, “Cheers to Freadom,” on Sunday, October 1 from 2 til 5 pm at Flying Dog Brewery.
